Christmas Card Competition Winner Announced
Dewsbury MP, Mark Eastwood has announced the winner of his 2nd Annual Christmas Card Competition, which encouraged primary school children to send in festive-related pictures to feature on the front of his official Christmas card.
The competition was well received by local school children who submitted hundreds of entries. In announcing the winner Mark Eastwood said.
“I would like to thank all the children across the Dewsbury constituency who took part in my annual Christmas Card Competition.
The Prime Minister was very impressed with the winning design, which was created by ten-year-old Mariam Ahmed, from Westmoor Primary School.
It was lovely to visit so many schools to thank all children for taking part in my Christmas card competition.
At Westmoor Primary School I congratulated Mariam for her winning design and I also visited St Joseph’s Primary, St John's Infant School, Pentland Junior and Infant School, St Paulinus Primary and Bywell Junior School to present runners-up and highly commended certificates.
A special thanks to all the other children who contributed. I received so many fantastic designs, and I would like to thank everyone that entered - picking the winner was a really tough decision."
