Mark Eastwood is supporting local residents with objections to applications for a solar farm on the border of Wakefield and Kirklees that could have a devastating impact on local wildlife, heritage and access to green space.
Mark said:
"I've been to the site and seen for myself the impact this scheme could have. I support the efforts that many businesses and homeowners are taking to switch to cleaner forms of energy and reach net zero, but this project with its loss of arable farm land could have real consequences for other environmental considerations - like flooding risks, biodiversity and food security.
I've made my views clear to both Wakefield and Kirklees Councils - it's important that they consider the impact of the project as a whole and not just the part of it which has been submitted to them."
