Mark Eastwood asked Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to include the Penistone Line in the new plans for Network North today at Prime Minister's Questions.
Seated with fellow MPs Miriam Cates and Jason McCartney, Mark used his opportunity to confirm the Government's support for the plans that will provide a better and more regular connection from Huddersfield to Sheffield, and offer more rail links to the constituency's rural villages.
The trio then followed up with a meeting with rail minister Huw Merriman where they discussed the practical next steps to achieve the plans given the support for the scheme expressed in the chamber by the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Transport.
