Local Dewsbury charity Moonlight Trust has been announced as the winner of BBC Radio Leeds’ Make A Difference awards, after a nomination by their MP Mark Eastwood.
Charity head Noushin Raja and her amazing team took home the Community Group award for their hard work in Dewsbury and worldwide.
Also nominated by Mark and highly commended was Mrs Gaynor Clegg, nominated for the Great Neighbour award for her decades of dedication to her local area.
Mark said,
When I learned about the BBC Make A Difference awards I knew I couldn’t miss the chance to recognise the people who make our community what it is. I’m enormously proud to have been part of their nominations and I’m delighted that the Moonlight Trust have come home with an award. Well done to all - not just for the awards, but for everything you do!
