Mark Eastwood welcomed Conservative Party Chairman Greg Hands to West Yorkshire today for a trip to the award-winning Ossett Brewery.
As well as receiving a full guided tour and learning all about the brewing process, Mark and Greg discussed the Government's Draft Relief with Managing Director Edd Simpson - help for independent breweries and pubs that's ensuring they're not undercut by cheap supermarket beer.
Of course, a trip to a brewery wouldn't be complete without sampling the produce, and Mark and Greg got the chance to pull their own pints at the brewery tap.
Support for brewers like Ossett Brewery, along with other measures that support the area's world-class food and drink are part of Mark's six-point plan for the new constituency of Ossett and Denby Dale, where Mark has been selected as the Conservative candidate for the forthcoming General Election.
Mark said
"I'm delighted that the Chairman has come to Ossett to see just what we have on offer locally. This is a company that started as a pub microbrewery, and is now exporting globally - creating jobs in their brewery and pubs. It's success stories like this, and the other incredible local food and drink producers and vendors that make our area so special, and a foodie capital!"
