Mark Eastwood has been lending a hand at All Hallows Church, Kirkburton at a working lunch for their "Adopt A Grave" scheme. The historic churchyard features many untended graves where relatives are themselves long deceased, and members of the community have been invited to "adopt" an unloved grave and keep it neat and tidy, and Mark and his team have joined other members of the community in taking care of a headstone.
Mark got involved with a number of tasks like building a new greenhouse, and getting the power tools out to put together some benches with planters, along with checking on the plants and flowers that were planted on the last visit.
Mark followed up the hard work with some well-earned refreshments while chatting to other local volunteers.
Final stop of the morning was Flockton's "knitted village" - an incredible creative achievement that really shows off the village's best features!
