Mark Eastwood has unveiled a brand new defibrillator at Shelley Cricket Club this morning, in memory of local man Jason Osbourne.
Jason passed away last year after a cardiac arrest and the air ambulance landed on the cricket pitch. His widow Michelle then raised the funds with donations from family, friends and wellwishers to buy a fully automated defibrillator and secure cabinet to be kept at Shelley Cricket Club as a lifesaving resource for the whole community.
Mark was asked by Jason's family to be present for the unveiling which took place at Shelley Cricket Club's first game of the season.
Mark commented:
I was honoured to have been asked to say a few words in memory of Jason and to unveil this wonderful community asset and the plaque commemorating his life.I'm sure that Jason would be proud of the fantastic achievement of his wife, and his family and friends in making sure that many lives are saved in the future.
