Mark Eastwood MP joins Police for Night Shifts
Mark Eastwood MP has joined West Yorkshire Police on both Friday and Saturday night (9th & 10th July 2022) to undertake two extremely busy and challenging night shifts, as part of the Parliamentary Police Scheme.
Commenting Mark Eastwood said:
"I had a lively Friday night shift consisting of foot and car patrols in a packed out ‘The Calls’ area of Leeds City Centre, attending numerous incidents involving violence and drunken antisocial behaviour.
Saturday night was equally as busy, as we patrolled the Pudsey, Brantley and Horsforth areas in a police van, attending incidents involving drunken behaviour, a crashed stolen vehicle and a serious road traffic collision.
A big thank you to Sgt Richard Neeves and the team of dedicated and hard-working on-duty police officers for giving me a fascinating insight into the challenges and pressures of working a nonstop weekend shift."
