Mark Eastwood MP has an eye on key Infrastructure Projects
Mark Eastwood has made a speech (08 July 2020) in House of Commons paying tribute to the Government's plan for jobs based on skills and apprenticeships, which was a crucial part of his election campaign.
He stated his desire to continue to provide my support to Kirklees College and other local organisations to promote skills and apprenticeships.
Mr Eastwood expressed his desire to work with ministers to secure critical infrastructure investments across the Dewsbury constituency.
Mr Eastwood wants to work with ministers to look at the feasibility of the Flockton bypass, essential improvements to Mirfield railway station, and much-needed upgrades along the Penistone line.
Mark Eastwood MP, also paid tribute to the Government's Coronavirus support packages.
"The unprecedented support packages for businesses, employers and employees that have provided a vital lifeline throughout the coronavirus emergency and helped to safeguarded 12,900 jobs across the Dewsbury constituency.
Nationally over 1.1 million employers have used it to protect more than 9.3 million jobs. The self-employed income support scheme has paid out more than £10 million across Dewsbury Mirfield, Kirkburton and Denby Dale."
Mr Eastwood finished off by saying that he will continue to work closely with individuals and businesses across the constituency to minimise the impact of COVID-19 and ensure that they prosper after this pandemic has passed.
