The Chancellor's Autumn Statement was full of great news for our area - and our success in this week's Levelling Up third round even got a mention!
Here's some of the highlights:
National Insurance cut from 12% to 10%, cutting tax for working people by an average of £450 a year
Simplified and lower tax for self-employed people
The biggest business tax cut in British history - helping businesses to invest for less permanently.
Increasing the Living Wage by 9.8% to £11.44 an hour
Freezing alcohol duty and extending hospitality and leisure relief for pubs, restaurants and cafes.
Increasing Local Housing Allowance helping 67,000 low income families in Yorkshire with the cost of housing.
Boosting Universal Credit for working-age people by 6.7% - an average increase of £470 a year
An 8.5% boost to the State Pension, making it £3,750 higher than in 2010
And the Office of Budget Responsibility (OBR) agree that our plans will:
raise business investment
get more people into work
reduce inflation
increase GDP
