ICC Cricket World Cup Tours Dewsbury Constituency
It was a really busy Saturday and Sunday morning for local MP Mark Eastwood in the Dewsbury Constituency.
Mark was showcasing the ICC World Cup trophy at six cricket clubs and a mosque. All part of the Streets initiative, bringing communities together through the power of sport.
The tour took in venues, such as Shepley Cricket Club, Shelley Cricket Club, Skelmanthorpe Cricket Club, Mirfield Cricket Club, Dewsbury Markaz and Hanging Heaton Cricket Club.
Following the tour, the organisers and partners will provide free year-round sporting hubs that will engage, empower and enlighten communities to work in collaborative partnerships to make their regions sustainable. A wider outcome will be to tackle the rise in mental health particularly in 16–24-year-old NEETS and the newly arrived Afghan asylum seekers and refugees
