Mark Eastwood has visited Clayton West based AUS, to see how the rail industry success story has apprentices at its heart.
Founder Simon Gibson was himself an apprentice, and now the employee-owned company takes on apprentices every year, meaning they make up around 10% of the company's workforce.
Mark sat down with Managing Director Nick Garner to talk about the importance of apprentices, the value of his annual Apprenticeship Fair and the need to find skilled employees through training rather than recruitment.
Mark also took a tour of the company's HQ and met apprentices working on both the factory floor and the office.
